Sitting alone outside to meditate and pray

MAP for Life – Meditate And Pray

Meditate

Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD; and you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might. And these words which I command you this day shall be upon your heart; and you shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. (Deut 6:4-7)

Pray

Mon. – acknowledge that God is the one and only god

Tues. – worship Him with your whole heart

Wed. – ask Him for diligence in seeking out, meditating on, and memorizing his words

Thurs. – commit to teach them to all with whom you have influence

Fri. – keep God’s words always in your conversations

Sat. – commit to dwell on His Word both at the end of your day and first thing each morning

Meditate Read the scripture slowly to yourself several times, letting its truths fill your mind and heart. Try to recall the passage several times during the day, listening to God as He instructs you in what He wants you to learn.

Pray As you read the passage, ask God to help you comprehend its truths and to live your life in a way that reflects those truths.
