MAP for Life – Meditate And Pray
Meditate
“How can a young man keep his way pure? By living according to your word. I seek you with all my heart; do not let me stray from your commands. I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you. Praise be to you, O LORD; teach me your decrees. With my lips I recount all the laws that come from your mouth. I rejoice in following your statutes as one rejoices in great riches. I meditate on your precepts and consider your ways. I delight in your decrees; I will not neglect your word." (Psalm 119:9-16)
Pray
Mon. – pray that purity is the desire of your heart
Tues. – pray that God does not let you wander from His Word
Wed. – pray that you are diligent in memorizing scripture
Thurs. – pray that you hunger after God’s truth
Fri. – pray for diligence in and a passion for meditating on scripture
Sat. – rejoice that God has given you His Word as your guide
Meditate Read the scripture slowly to yourself several times, letting its truths fill your mind and heart. Try to recall the passage several times during the day, listening to God as He instructs you in what He wants you to learn.
Pray As you read the passage, ask God to help you comprehend its truths and to live your life in a way that reflects those truths.
Go, therefore, and make disciples . . .
